THE OUTSTANDING BOHOLANOS OF USA AND CANADA 2017 AWARD GUIDELINES
Statement:
The mission of this award is to recognize individual Boholanos / Boholanas who have demonstrated a high degree of excellence in his/her field of endeavour / practice, who espouses, practices and promotes community service, who possesses high integrity and moral character and who is passionately dedicated in improving his/herself and or his/her environment especially as it impacts the province of Bohol and its people.
Requirements:
The nominee has made an outstanding and/or significant contribution in his/her field of endeavour/practice and has worked passionately to enhance and improve the lives of
people in his/her community and elsewhere, most especially Boholanos here in the USA and Canada and/or in our province.
The nominee has demonstrated leadership and commitment towards encouraging, facilitating, promoting and improving the quality of life of Boholanos here in the USA and Canada and/or in our province.
The nominee has effected support to individuals, not necessarily Boholanos who are financially and physically disadvantaged, to live, work and participate fully in their
communities.
The nominee must be a Boholano by birth, by parentage or is a spouse of a Boholano by birth or by parentage and is a resident of the USA or Canada.
Both husband and wife can be nominated but the selection of one spouse will automatically disqualify the other. Only one award can be given to a couple at a time. The disqualified spouse will be automatically nominated in the next Outstanding Boholanos of USA and Canada selection process.
The nominee must be nominated by a Boholano organization affiliated with or in the process of affiliating with the CONBUSAC.
The President of CONBUSAC may nominate Boholanos/Boholanas residing in any jurisdiction who possesses the qualifications to receive the award.
There is no limit as to the number of nominees an organization can nominate and a nominee may not necessarily reside in the jurisdiction area of the nominating organization.
Selection Guidelines
Qualities:
The nominee must be focused, organized, dedicated, optimistic, intelligent, creative and considerate.
Attributes:
The nominee must have demonstrated leadership in his/her field of endeavour/practice, has generosity of spirit and possess self starter qualities, assertive and results oriented.
Accomplishments:
The nominee has demonstrated good work ethics.
The nominee has contributed his talents and energies to enhance his or her profession.
The nominee has demonstrated his/her ability to work well with others.
The nominee fights and rallies for causes he/she supports.
The nominee possesses the qualities of an educator, a student, a mentor and/or a role model.
The nominee has worked towards improving the lives of our fellow Boholanos here and in our province.
The nominee through his/her works have brought honor and prestige to Bohol and its people.
The nominees’ accomplishments must be worthy of emulation and inspiration from the younger generation.

The Outstanding Boholanos of USA and Canada Award Committee is composed of the following :

The completed nomination form duly endorsed by the nominating organization or by the President of CONBUSAC together with a half body recent photograph and other documents which may be required must be mailed to Rhine Pamaong, 39 Sedgeway Heights, Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada L4H 3A9 or emailed to [email protected]. This must be received on or before the deadline on May 7, 2017. The committee as part of its deliberations may call and talk to nominees for more information and/or clarification. Professional ethics must be highly observed during this call or conversation.
All awardees must be present to receive their awards. Awarding ceremonies will be held on July 7, 2017 at The Chelsea Hotel , 33 Gerard St. West, Toronto, Ontario, M5G1Z4, Canada
