MISS BOHOL USA & CANADA 2017 GUIDELINES
STATEMENT:
Miss Bohol USA and Canada 2017 will be held during the 17th Biennial Convention of The Confederation of Boholanos of USA and Canada (CONBUSAC) at the Chelsea Hotel, 33 Gerrard St. West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5G 1Z4
OBJECTIVES:
1) To promote appreciation of the pride, honor, prestige and beauty of Bohol and its people.
2) To cultivate extended contact, camaraderie, and cooperation of Boholanos in the United States and Canada and in the province of Bohol
3) To raise funds for the CONBUSAC charitable projects in the province of Bohol.
QUALIFICATION 0F CANDIDATES:
1) Female, single, never been married, never been pregnant, between the ages of 16 to 26 years old.
2) Must be of good moral character.
3) Must be of Boholano, Boholano-American, Boholano-Canadian ancestry.
4) Must have at least a high school education.
5) Must possess a pleasant personality and beauty.
RULES AND REGULATIONS;
1) A candidate must be sponsored by a member organization of the CONBUSAC or any accredited Boholano organization in the USA and Canada.
2) A candidate must sign, along with the President or other duly authorized officer of the sponsoring organization, a contract / application/ registration form that CONBUSAC has prepared for this purpose.
3) A candidate shall submit the following:
a) A short one page biography.
b) Two recent coloured photographs (glamour shot) of herself - one head shot and one full body shot for promotion /publicity purposes.
c) A non- refundable registration fee of $500 in the form of cash, certified cheque or money order payable to Confederation of Boholanos of
USA and Canada (CONBUSAC) which is due on January 30, 2017. This amount entitles the candidate to 4 full pages of advertisements in the Souvenir Journal.
4) The advertisers of the souvenir journal should indicate the candidates they are supporting and the amount raised through the Souvenir Journal will count as votes. 1US dollar is equivalent to 1 vote, at par with 1 Canadian dollar.
5) Monies remitted for this contest will only be in the form of cash, certified cheque or money order payable to The Confederation of Boholanos of USA and Canada (CONBUSAC)
6) Gross proceeds of the Souvenir Journal shall be divided into:
a) 20 % of the candidates’ gross Souvenir Journal proceeds - given back to each candidate
b) 5% of the candidates’ gross Souvenir Journal proceeds - given back to the sponsoring organization.
c) 75% of the gross Souvenir Journal proceeds goes to the CONBUSAC.
7) Shares of the sponsoring organization and the candidates cannot be claimed unless the candidate will participate during the final pageant.
PRIZES:
Miss Bohol USA / Canada - She will receive a crown, trophy, sash, roundtrip airfare ticket to Bohol and other amenities. She will receive 20% of her total amount raised in the souvenir journal advertisements. Her scheduled trip to Bohol shall be timed with The Sandugo / TBTK celebration in July 2018. She will act as the Ambassador of Goodwill of CONBUSAC to the Province of Bohol during the Sandugo / TBTK Celebration.
First Runner Up - will receive a trophy, sash and other amenities. She will also receive 20% of her total amount raised in the souvenir journals. She
will act as the first alternate to MISS BOHOL USA & CANADA in the event if the winner is not able to perform her duties and responsibilities.
Second Runner Up - will receive a trophy, sash, other amenities and 20% of her total amount raised in the souvenir journal
Third Runner Up - will receive a trophy, sash, other amenities and 20% of her total amount raised in the souvenir journal
Fourth runner Up - will receive a trophy, sash, other amenities and 20% of her total amount raised in the souvenir journal

July 2016 to December 2016 - Organizational, coordinations, project studies, planning phase, registration forms distribution, information dissemination
January 30, 2017 - last day of registration of candidates.
June 7, 2017 - Deadline of submission of advertisement materials for Souvenir Journal with corresponding payments. After this date, the Souvenir Journal printer will no longer guarantee publication of advertising materials that are submitted late. However the funds collected for this purpose will still be accepted and credited towards a particular candidate.
July 7, 2017 - Final Canvassing after presentation of candidates during Welcome Night at the Chelsea Hotel - Toronto This will include money votes “DAK DAk” from candidates’ supporters without corresponding ads. in the Souvenir Journal
July 8, 2017 - Miss Bohol USA & Canada 2017 Pageant and Coronation at The Churchill Ballroom, Chelsea Hotel - Toronto
